How old do I have to be to volunteer?
If you are a high school freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, you can volunteer as a C-I-T (Counselor-in-Training) at our Camp for All Program. (There is a fee for this program.)
All other volunteers else must be 18 years of age or older, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What do I need to do to volunteer?
Fill out an initial volunteer form, then come in for a brief interview. We also request that you get a LiveScan for a background check. The costs runs for $20-$30 to get this done, and we will send you a list of locations to get this done every quickly and easily.
Do I need experience working with youth?
No! Just a willingness to help, patience and great compassion.
Do I need to know how to surf?
Absolutely not? Camp volunteers just need to feel comfortable at the beach/in water, and have a great attitude, and love to help.
Can I earn high school community service hours here?
Yes! Through our C-I-T Program during the summer months, you sure can! And at our Project Angel Wings Holiday events, as well. If you do school fundraising for CLF, this may also qualify.
