Coastal Eco-Mariners Surf Camps
CLF Has Introduced Over 10,000 Underserved Los Angeles Youth To Surfing: Fun, Healing Ocean Therapy-While Learning To Surf!
Each summer, in addition to our Wilderness Camps, underserved and often homeless children and their parents attend our awesome Surf Camp Sessions at Zuma Beach. Since 2006, the CLF has been conducting Surf Camps for All at Zuma Beach in Malibu, where kids and teens from agencies serving underserved youth and families hit the beach and get great surf therapy lessons, go boogie-boarding, and learn about the natural marine environment. An amazing impactful experience, this program offers an unparalled, lasting dose of self-esteem, access to marine education in a fun, engaging way, and a genuine respite from city life….
In addition, campers will enjoy learning about coastal marine life, ocean safety and wave patterns from a special, designed curriculum, filled with fun
projects and special field trips designed to heighten environmental awareness, knowledge of sea life, and a natural appreciation of our beautiful coastal environment.
Everyone on our staff makes sure each camper has the best day ever at the beach, in addition to learning and challenging themselves. Our staff includes professional surf instructors and local surf therapists and bright, compassionate counselors. It is surprising how many low-income Angelenos never make it out to our beautiful local beaches and state parks. Camp for All’s Coastal Eco-Mariners Surf Camp aims to change all of that-and we do it, always, free-of charge to all participants and partner agencies. We also include Outdoor Educational Field Trips with our friends at RCD at amazing natural locations-such as Topanga State Park and the Malibu Lagoon State Park and Watershed.
