It's National Fire Prevention Week, and CLF has collaborated with the California Fire Foundation to create an awesome new guide!

It's #NationalFirePreventionWeek, and CLF is so pleased to once again announce our collaboration with the @cafirefound to produce an awesome, free, downloadable guide-"How to Safely Prepare for a Fire Emergency When You Live in a City." We have an entire section of preventing home cooking fires-the awareness and prevention of which is the focus of this week's national initiate. Did YOU know these these stats, below?

"During 2017–2021, local fire departments responded to an estimated average of 158,400 home cooking fires per year. These fires caused an average of 470 civilian deaths; 4,150 civilian injuries; and $1.15 billion in direct property damage annually. Cooking caused two in five reported home fires (44 percent) and home fire injuries (42 percent) and one in five home fire deaths (18 percent). Cooking was the leading cause of reported home fires and home fire injuries and the second leading cause of home fire deaths." (from NVPA.org) Whoa. We need to educate our kids about fire safety, especially going into the fall season...
