Woolsey Fire: UPDATE
A brave firefighter, battling the Woolsey Fire at Camp Hess Kramer in Malibu, the site of CLF’s holiday events and toy wrap stations.
The Children’s Lifesaving Foundation’s Project Angel Wings Holiday Program took place each year in what was once a warm, beautiful space called Gildred Hall at Camp Hess Kramer in Malibu…It is no longer there, due to the tragic Woolsey Fires. Deserving, very low-income youth still need our help this Holiday Season. Many of their counselors have told us the CLF’s wonderfully personalized gift bags of brand-new toys are the only gifts they will receive this year…
Camp Hess Kramer was where we hosted all of our Holiday Parties each year, and Gildred Hall was our own Santa’s Workshop, where volunteers gathered and wrapped thousands of toys and gifts for very low-income children and families of Los Angeles. Camp Shalom was where our overnight teen camps were hosted. We are devastated for our friends and staff at both camps, and so saddened by these great losses…
The good news is…
We have coordinated with the great folks at Santa Monica-Malibu USD, and have found a new location for the upcoming holiday events in Santa Monica. We will also be doing festive toy give-aways at individual downtown homeless shelters the week before Christmas, as well as on Christmas Day itself at Midnight Mission.
Please help us keep the holiday spirit alive for these children and families, as well as for families from our wonderful Malibu Community.
